he is just the dearest, most loving dog i really like this dog a lot. he stands at the front of his cage and stares at everyone who passes, wondering who can help him. he is amazingly gentle and soulful. when i go to pet him, he stares into my eyes with such sadness. this is another one of those "wise dogs" who knows that he is in a very bad situation. he leans ito the front of the kennel, trying to press closer to let me pet him. this very dear, loving boy is very much in danger of losing his life. there are over 235 dogs at the south l.a. shelter right now. with everyone wanting puppies, what chance does a darling, lovable middle aged dog have? he needs out NOW! rescued! thank you gina and san diego pet rescue! please email sdpetrescue@cox.net for adoption information. |
they have just days left to live, pleas help! one of the kittens in the above picture is no longer at the shelter. the orange with white and the tabby are still there. they started out as happy kittens, playing and cuddling together. now these two are so sad that they cling to each other constantly. they both have upper respiratory,a kitty cold, which is totally curable with antibiotics. they are so incredibly dear, cuddly, affectionate, loving and trusting. the cat room and isolation at south l.a. is crammed with cats and kittens--these are just two of the unfortunates. these little kitties do not have much time left, maybe a day or two. isn't there somebody who would love to have such beautiful and loving kittens? we can't let them die! rescued! for adoption information please emailyep6cats@aol.com. i
they MUST find a foster home or they will be euthanized this sweet young mom cat and her two adorable kittens are extremely urgent. mom is SO friendly, sweet and YOUNG. she is attentive and loving with her babies. they will be euthanized monday, june 18 unless somebody steps up to foster them. a rescue group will pay their expenses, what is needed is somebody willing to save their lives by giving them a temporary place to live. please don't let them die! rescued!! |
she has been on the euthanize list two days in a row, she needs out NOW this girl is completely adorable-very petite and dainty with big green expressive eyes. she is truly just a darling, good natured, out going, LOVING little girl who comes right up to the front of the cage to visit with everyone. she loves people and she LOVES LIFE! must her life be ended? i just know that somebody would adore this kitty if only she was given the chance to be in a home. just one year old---so sad. she has caught upper respiratory at the shelter- a totally curable kitty cold that goes away with time and antibiotics. it is NOT a reason for her to lose her precious life! rescued. for adoption information please email yep6cats@aol.com
this family must find a foster family to be rescued together or they will be euthanized mom cat could not be more pretty or more sweet. a perfect cat. she has six beautiful little kittens. the shelter does not have room to keep the family until they are old enough to be adopted on their own. a foster home is needed to save their lives. a rescue group will pay their shelter fees and vet expenses and also find loving homes for them. a foster home is needed to give them a safe, loving place to live until they are adopted. please do not email and offer to adopt one kitten, the shelter will only adopt them as a family. please help--don't let this sweet mom and her kittens die at the shelter! rescued! thank you mi! |
this is the BEST cat! he has been here too long and is in definite danger. absolutely love this kitty. he is petite and seems under a year to me. he will immediately engage with anyone who comes to visit, rubbing, purring, falling oer for tummy rubs and generally being impossibly cute. he pokes his little paws out and begs for more attention. very playful too. unfortunately, everyone i have shown him to agress that he is an amazing little guy but they all "want a tiny kitten". what a shame if this perfect young adult kitty were to die-he has so much love to give. please come sae him today! he is listed online as a female, but his kennel card says he is a male. also, he came in with a twin cat, impound 715339-perhaps you would like to reunite the two cats and give them a home together? rescued! please email yep6cats@aol.com for adoption information.
her owners dumped her simply stating "we don't want her". i saw the couple drag poor cindy into the shelter. she didn't want to come in but she was obedient and followed them slowly. she was very well behaved and quiet. she made quite an impression on me as she stared at me with such sad eyes. i kept asking the couple why they were turning in such a nice, gentle dog and they simply responded "we don't want her". then they proceeded to shove her into the tiny cage in the receiving area and poor cindy looked so sad and confused. her people understood that she would most likely be killed--they did not care. they did not say good bye. they did not pat her on the head. nothing. i can only imagine the hard life this dog has had and yet she has remained unbelievably sweet. every time i am at the shelter, cindy comes slowly, tentatively up to the front of the cage. she gives me such a look--as if begging me to get her out of this scary place. i pet her muzzle and she stares straight nto my eyes, trying to determine if i will be kind to her. she is extremely soulful and sensitive. quiet, loving, gentle and sweet. she is listed as 9 years old and she may well be but her eyes are clear and she doesn't really show any signs of old age that i can see. this dear, gentle dog would be so happy to have a home and people to love who would love her back. she would be an easy dog to love, if only somebody will give her a chance. everybody wants puppies, small dogs, purebreds and cindy is none of those things. she is just a dog who will be loyal and loving forever. please, please give this girl a chance. don't let her die a shelter death, alone and unloved. please email yep6cats@aol.com if you can help cindy in any way. |
rescued and saved from certain death! thank you kitten rescue and anne b.!! this big lovable boy was so sad in isolation. he is all scraped up and breathing with an open mouth. still, he was the sweetest cat ever! he has the loudest, most calming purr and he purrs almost constantly. he is ALL LOVE and there he sat, waiting to be euthanized. thankfully anne b., a dedicated kitten rescue foster home with a HUGE heart, agreed to foster this boy. he went to the vet today, 5/7, and it appears that he was hit by a car but we are not sure yet. i am waiting to hear the results of his xrays and will post when i have more ifo. most rescuers will not save an older cat because they are so hard to find homes for. but anne and i believe in the MAJOR charm that this cat has and really believe that somebody will want to love and cherish him when he is ready for adoption. actually, we think he is so charming that people will be fighting over him. :) if you would like to make a donation to encourage kitten rescue to continue saving sweet older cats like him, please visit www.kittenrescue.org to find out how to donate. btw-we named this kitty CRAB CAKE.
they must be rescued together or they will be euthanized together, please help! this mom cat is SO sweet. she is very outgoing, friendly and loving. her thoughtless owner never spayed her, let her get pregnant and then dumped her at the shelter. she had her kittens just a few days ago. even under her stressful conditions, she is a wonderful mommy-- very attentive to her little ones. there is NO WAY the shelter has room to keep this family until her kittens can be adopted on their own at 8 weeks. there is not enough space and there are too many cats and kittens flooding into the shelter. a foster home MUST be found or this family will be euthanized. please consider fostering a shelter cat or cat family to help save lives! RESCUED! thank you animal alliance! please visit www.animalallianceweb.com for adoption info or to make a donation to help save shelter cats from death row! |
rescued! thank you mary c.! for adoption information please email boolas@juno.com this beautiful girl had the misfortune of being dumped at the shelter with a number of really nice adult cats as well as some kittens. the person said they had "too many". i guess that is what happens if a person is irresponsible and doesn't spay and neuter. this sweet cat is a tad shy at first but so loving and responsive once you visit with her. she is super cute, very dainty and petite with an affectionate, sensitive nature. please ask a shelter worker to open her cage so you can visit with her to see just how nice she is. BEYOND URGENT! she is sick with upper respiratory, a toally curable "kitty cold" she MUST be rescued tomorrow, 5/17 or her time is up.please email yep6cats@aol.comif you would like to foster this cat to save her life!
this cat family needs a foster home to save their lives mom is practically a kitten herself, she is petitie and seems younger than a year. she is super sweet with people and a good mommy. she has 3 adorable tabby kittens. they must be rescued as a family, the shelter does not have space to keep families for very long. what is needed to save their lives is a foster home. foster homes provide a place for the family to live safely until permanent homes can be found. a rescue group will pay the shelter fees and vet expenses as well as find loving homes. there are many families at the shelter in need of a foster home to save thier lives. RESCUED! thank you Rescued Pet Foundation! for adoption info or to make a donation to help save more, please visit www.rescuedpet.petfinder.com |
she came into the shelter as a pup, beaten and with puncture wounds. held for almost a year and finally released, will she get a home? or will her short life consist of being abused as a puppy and then living the rest of her short life at the shelter? back in july 2004, three puppies arrived at the shelter with puncture wounds. one was severely beaten. seems a bunch of TWELVE year old boys were trying to make two puppies fight by cutting them and throwing them at each other. along came a stray pup, a bit older and the boys cruelly called to her in sweet voices to lure her over. the stray came over, wagging her tail, and two of the boys grabbed her and held her down as the others beat her with chains. really unthinkable. the dog in this picture was one of the pups they tried to make fight. she has grown into a beautiful, loving, trusting dog in spite of her ordeal. the other pup they tried to make fight, 662865, also has grown into a sweet, trusting, beautiful dog. the dog who was so severely beaten, impound 662863, is very sweet but still very fearful of people. after all this time, the poor dog cannot forget the horrific deed that was done to her. i am begging for these three, please do not let them die at the shelter. they HAVE to get their happy ending after all they have endured. please click on "more photos" to see pictures of the three as pups and pictures of them now. |
