URGENT! THIS IS A WONDERFUL AND SWEET PUP! PLEASE SAVE HER LIFE! SHE WON'T MAKE IT OUT ALIVE IF NOT ADOPTED SOON! I really like this sweet girl! She does the full body wiggle when you visit with her. She is a friendly and gentle girl. She loves everyone! She is also somewhat petite and smaller than a true lab. She has a feminine quality about her. She prances around and is quite the lady. Please save this wonderful girl's life. Once she becomes available (3/15) she will have a limited time to make it out of the shelter. 3/19 HELP!!! this poor, poor girl is not the same tail wagging, happy go lucky girl she was when she arrived at the shelter. she apparently was attacked by another dog and her ear and side of her face are bloody. she seems traumatized. additionaly, she has bad upper respiratory. it breaks my heart. she went from an outgoing, enthusiastic, well adjusted dog to one who has just shut down. she was not very responsive when i visited with her today. i would like to save her life. she deserves to live and become the happy, loving dog she used to be such a short time ago. she is so young. thank you ha adolfo, jacquie and mike and to everyone who helped to save this sweet, sweet dog! Rescued! For adoption information please visit www.cockersandkitties.petfinder.com |
They don't get more Golden Retriever than this one. He's a honey of a Golden! Beautiful coloring, nice conformation -- not too large. Sweet as only a Golden can be! I am very enamored with this breed. I shared space with a Golden Retriever for 14 years and he was the best! This dog has been impounded for a few days now. No one has come for him. I hope his person finds him. He must be missed. But no microchip and no license. What a shame! That's why it's so important to tag your animals. It gives you, their person, the opportunity to reclaim them. When an animal with identification is picked up, the city pound must send a letter and give the owner at least two weeks to redeem the animal. With no identification and after a 4-day holding period, they're anybody's adoption. If this boy's person does not find him tomorrow, he'll become available for adoption on Friday morning. I imagine he has a lot of admirers. rescued!
marvin has a broken leg and two days to live. this is the happiest, most friendly boy. he needs out on the 19th. when cheryl the registered vet tech at south l.a. asked me to help save a dog, i knew he had to be special. cheryl sees a lot of dogs come through this shelter and altho she loves animals, she has never asked me to help save one. she told me that he has a broken front leg and that he is the most gentle, loving, good natured boy. she even named him. poor cheryl has completely fallen for this pooch. she brought him out to meet me and i immediately understood why she is so smitten. this dog is all love. he wants to kiss your face. he wants to sit close to you and press his body next to you. he gets excited and wags his whole body if you pet him or talk baby talk to him. here he is in pain, his paw in a cast and all he wants to do is love, love, love. he is completely adorable but impossible to photograph because he kept trying to kiss cheryl and he just couldn't hold still! i love this guy. he would be a great companion to hang out with and has the right temperament to be a perfect family dog. cheryl told me that even though he was in great pain when she wrapped his leg, he didn't once try to nip like most dogs would. sweet marvin just sat there and kissed her face while wrapped his leg. marvin needs to be taken to a vet asap. he is in pain and the shelter will not hold him past the 19th because it is cruel to let him stay in pain if he has no chance of getting out. perhaps if enough donations are offered, i can find a rescue group to save marvin. he is such a GREAT dog and so worth saving. please email yep6cats@aol.comif you are able to foster this dog or donate to save his life. RESCUED! marvin was quite the star! thank you karma rescue! visit www.karmarescue.org and thank you to the very kind people who donated to save marvin's life. look for pics and updates coming in about a week. |
beyond urgent, out of time! please save his life TODAY it is strange how hard it is to write something when i really am desperate to save a very special dog's life. i noticed sepi immediately. he instantly struck me as extraordinary. his striking light brown eyes exude love and kindness. there is an innocence--a puppyish, trusting manner about him. in a way he seems to represent every dog at the shelter--ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. in the shelter, a dog like sepi blends into the sea of brown/black medium size dogs and he is somehow overlooked. if he were somebody's treasured pet going for a walk, people would certainly comment on what a handsome, extraordinarily beautiful dog he is. at the shelter, he is one of many dogs who stare kindly at you with hope and who will be so very gentle and friendly if you approach. at the shelter, i suppose this is ordinary because there are so many who will do that. but if sepi was your dog and a person met him on the street, they would comment on how extraordinarily gentle, friendly and loving your dog is. strange how row after row of beautiful, loving, friendly dogs makes them seem common. but truly, when taken out of the shelter and put in a different setting, these dogs would be considered exceptional in every way. sepi, just happens to be extra exceptional. gorgeous, loving, gentle, kind, well mannered and so very innocent and trusting. if he is not saved, they will come to his cage, put a rope around his neck to lead him to the back room, lie him down on a table and "put him to sleep". perhaps he will refuse to walk, perhaps they will have to drag him, he might be so afraid (because the dogs and cats DO know what will happen) that he will lose control and make a mess in the hall way. this is an ordinary shelter death, the result of something so extraordinarily tragic and sad being repeated so often that it becomes ordinary. you can make a difference. save one dog. save THIS dog. please don't let this uncommonly loving, kind dog die at the shelter. sepi has become depressed after being at the shelter for so long, he is not showing well. please ask to see him outside of his kennel so you can see what a special boy he really is. thank you jill b. for helping to save sepi's life! RESCUED! please email yep6cats@aol.com ifor adoption information. Sepi is still in boarding, please email if you would like to foster him.

without a foster home, this family will die at the shelter. this darling calico mom seems so young to be a momma cat. she is so petite and dainty, she seems under a year old. she is very, very sweet and friendly. she gave birth at the shelter to three adorable little spotted kittens. the shelter does not have the space to keep mom and babies until they are old enough to be adopted on their own. so this family must be adopted together or they will be euthanized. it is expensive to rescue cat families. the shelter charges $55 per cat and kitten. (charge is prepayment for spay/neuter and microchipping) if this sweet calico and her family is to live, they need two things, donations for bail out fees and a foster home. without both of these things, they have no chance. if bail money and a foster home can be found, a rescue group will pay any vet expenses they may incur and place the kitties in loving homes. please email yep6cats@aol.com if you are able to help.
HIS NAME IS HERO. This puppy has been through alot. It appears as if he was hit by an automobile. He has staples in the left side of his face. Despite the fact that this little guy has been in Isolation and probably in a great deal of discomfort, it did not prevent him from trying to kiss the ACT who was holding him. Incredible sweetness from this baby. He cannot die. He must be saved. This little survivor needs an angel to rescue him from the pound. Could that angel be you? Rescued. Please visit www.noahsbark.orgfor adoption information. |
This is such a unique dog! I am not quite sure what breed White Boy is. He may have some Bull Terrier mixed in with Staffordshire Terrier. He is beautiful and quite the eye catcher! He is fairly large, with a full tail. He came in with "Brownie," Impound A630829. Both were dumped by the owner. Whiteboy is also incredibly sweet and friendly. He is a nice dog. As I was trying to take his picture he was playing with his kennel mates. This big handsome boy is so loving and deserving of a new home. Please visit with him outside of his kennel so you can spend some one on one time with him. This will allow you to find out just how special he really is. His life is in danger, please save him! RESCUED, 3/22. Thank you Ace of Hearts!
She is a very timid girl. She so wants to meet people; however, she is overwhelmed in her kennel. Too many other dogs to compete with. But she is sweet, so very sweet. She did finally brave the trip over to meet me and gave soft kisses on my hand. Can anyone save her? She needs to get picked up very quickly. Her time is running out. Rescued. |
This sweet happy go lucky girl was rescued March 6 from the shelter. She is currently being kenneled, hoping to find a good home. She is good with other dogs, cats and LOVES people! For adoption information please email petfinder@aol.com. Thank you. Rescued by Peachy Grasshopper & Lucky Dog Auction. Could not have done it without Rita and RacingWest Thank you. :)
Poor, poor Canela. Her owner lost his home and left Canela in the pound. I believe she came in with another dog as well. Despite her dire circumstances, adorable Canela acts like a happy camper. She could not have been friendlier. Came right up to the kennel to visit with me. She may not be a purebred dog or a puppy, but she has to be one of the most personable, charming dogs in the shelter! Lots of enthusiasm, a twinkle in her eye and a zest for life. How tragic if this dog who loves life so much doesn't make it out of the shelter. Please hurry to save her life. Rescued. |
This is an incredible dog! I can't say enough nice things about him. I could go on and on, but I'll get to the point. He is OUT of time at the shelter! If he is not adopted or rescued soon he will not make it out of the shelter alive. He has been at the shelter for a while now. When I first saw him there he was enthusiastic and hopeful that someone would come for him. He would be the first one to greet you at his kennel (even though there were 3 other dogs), and the last one to say goodbye. While he hasn't given up hope, he is less optimistic than he previously was. He is still happy and eager to receive attention. He gives kisses through the kennel bars too. He just seems to be a little down. It seems as though the harsh reality of the shelter is sinking into him deeply. I visited with him outside of his kennel. He walked out into the hall cautiously and proceded to wag his tail once we exited the loud kennel run area. He was thrilled to be the center of attention. He looked into my eyes and proceeded to crawl into my lap (I guess he thinks he is a lap dog!). He then decided to give my chin a few kisses. This boy is an angel! He is affectionate and once his tail begins wagging, he can't stop it! What a happy boy. He will blossom into an awesome and devoted companion in his new home (if someone comes for him). He is the complete package...looks (beautiful fluffy coat), personality (this boy has so much depth!), and did I mention FRIENDLY? He even gets along with his kennel friends very nicely! This dog is only 1 year old and so full of love and life! All he wants is to have someone to love and love him back. Please save his life! RESCUED! Thank you Joy!
