these precious litter mates are all in isolation. they have simple upper respiratory which can be cured with a bit of time, tlc and antibiotics. unfortunately, the more likely outcome is that they will lose their lives because they are in isolation where nobody will see them. they are simply adorable, each and every one of them. there are six altogether-644628, 644629, 644630, 644631 are all male orange and whites. some fluffier than others. their sisters, 644632 and 644633 are dilute tortie-beautiful little peach and gray kitties.

i KNOW that somebody would love to take these kitties home and nurse them back to health, if only someone could see them! please, please go to the shelter and ask to see them. you will get a free vet visit when you adopt from the shelter and antibiotics are about $15. they are friendly, sweet, loving and almost out of time.

miss personality

love this cat. she is son incredibly loving, sweet, outgoing and friendly. as you can see from her picture, she wants out of her "cell" very badly. she had the misfortune of being owned by a not so nice person who dumped her off full of milk. no kittens with her so this is another mom cat who is dumped while the owners kept the kittens to sell. there ought to be a law!!

in any case, if you were to meet this charming, adorable kitty, i have no doubt that you would want to take her home and give her the loving, foever home that she deserves.

Urgent! Needs out NOW!!

Precious has a handsome look. She even looks a little "tough", but is all love! She is such a lovergirl! Her tail wags and she is so gentle and affectionate.

When I visited with her, she was playing with her kennelmate, but took the time to come up to see me too. She seems to really like the other dogs in her kennel!

She is already spayed, so she can go home the day she is adopted--if she is saved. Please save her! She is such a nice all-around girl!

urgent, needs out NOW!

to see the hope on this dog's face just really does me in. she looks at every person as if they will be the one to take her home. she wags her tail and practically smiles, as if she thinks she will be going home with you. this is yet another exceptionally nice dog who is kind, gentle and loving with people as well as with other dogs. i know i keep saying it but it is true, right now the south l.a. shelter is filled with the NICEST dogs. please come visit soon, most will not be chosen to go home. this girl has been here too long, she needs to be adopted asap.

rescued! thank you nikki! please email nikkiaudet@aol.com fora adoption information.

5/18 urgent, he has been moved to isolation. he MUST be adopted/rescued asap or he will be euthanized!

this kitty looks so little and lonely. he is very sweet and purrs the minute you pick him up. he would be so happy to have a home and people of his own.

this poor little guy was adopted and returned because he caught upper respiratory at the shelter and his new owner didn't want a "sick cat". better that they dumped him now than six months later when they didn't want to pay for a vet. however, this poor kitten needs out NOW. it is just a kitty cold, it will go away with antibiotics and some TLC. please, please save his precious life!

rescued. thank you janet!!

beyond urgent! reilly needs out today!!

this is the sweetest boy, not to mention the cutest boy. he apparently has arthritis in his front leg which makes him walk with a limp. with medication and supplements, he should improve greatly--it is no reason why this beautiful, loving amusing little boy should lose his life. when i first saw him, he was so sad and dejected. he didn't even stand up or look at me. but now that he has become familiar with me, he leaps about and wags his little stump of a tail faster than you can imagine. he is a happy, loving boy who would be the most devoted companion, if only given the chance. please don't let him die alone and unloved at the shelter. dogs in isolation have very little time, if you want to save this boy, please go to the shelter TODAY!

"princess"
goodbye princess, hello baby. princess' people dumped her because they are having a baby!

poor princess, i am sure she would never hurt a baby. perhaps princess was the "practice baby" and now that they have a real one on the way, they don't want princess anymore.

the shelter listed princess as one year but she is definitely still a kitten. she is very petite and seems to be more like 6 to 8 months. she is a very pretty girl with sparkling green eyes. she is starting to adjust to the scary shelter environment and is very affectionate if you take the time to talk sweet to her and pet her. please ask to visit with princess outside of her cage so you can see what a really nice cat she is.

5/ 18: this cat can't get a break! she was adopted and returned because she has a kitty cold. i cannot believe that the people who adopted her would not bring her to a vet. she has a simple kitty cold that will resolve with $20 worth of antibiotics and some TLC. this is a very dear, dear kitty who is so loving and affectionate. she came right up to me, rubbed her face against my hand and stared into my eyes. it broke my heart. she has really been dealt a crappy hand so far. please somebody, give this girl the loving home she so deserves. i promise you will LOVE this cat. she is beautiful, loving, gentle and in BIG trouble. she needs out today.

please email yep6cats@aol.com if you can foster this cat to save her life.

rescued, please email yep6cats@aol.com for adoption information.

this family MUST be rescued together or they will be euthanized together.

mom cat is adorable, affectionate and sweet. her babies are exceptionally cute little tabbies and whites with one black and white kitten. the shelter does not have the space to keep this family until the kittens are old enough to be adopted on their own. the only way they will get to live is if a foster home can be found. a foster home will provide the family with a small, safe space to live until a rescue group can find loving homes for the kitties. fostering is a very rewarding experience. to look into the eyes of the little ones and know that they are alive because of YOU and you alone, is an amazing feeling. if you would like to save this family by fostering in your home, please email yep6cats@aol.com. there are FOUR families at the shetler right now who MUST find a foster home.

this adorable girl is in isolation where nobody knows she exists or desperately needs a home

this cat just too cute. she is bursting with personality. she isn't shy or fearful at all. she greets you with a chirpy meow when you enter the room, as if you have come to visit with her and her alone. she rubs, purrs, lets out little conversational meows and is unbelievable charming. i have no doubt that this little cutie would have been adopted if she was in the cat room. she is in isolation because she has mange, very treatable with two or three inexpensive injections and a bath or two. however, being in isolation, she has caught upper respiratory which will make it even harder for her to be adopted. IF you would like to save this very dear girl, you are entitled to a free vet visit if you show the vet your shelter paper work. he vet bill should be very reasonable as she has minor, treatable conditions. mange and upper respiratory are only a death sentence at the shelter, not in the real world.

this girll is TOO special. please don't let her die alone, unloved and scared at the shelter.

"BOBBY"
bobby needs out TODAY!! he is urgent.

bobby was dumped at the shelter with his kitty friends gardenia and petunia. their owner suddenly became allergic. the good news is that gardenia and petunia were adopted. the VERY BAD news is that bobby is still here and in trouble. he came in healthy but as is always the case, he caught upper respiratoy while at the shelter. this is simply a kitty cold and, in the real world, a very minor problem that can be treated with antibiotics and time. at the shelter, upper respiratory is a death sentence. bobby needs out NOW!

bobby is a very dear cat. he is mellow, calm and super loving. he has surprisingly soft fur, he feels like a rabbit! when you pet him, he lifts his head up, starts to purr and looks you straight in the eyes. i felt so guilty leaving him there. he is a big gentle giant and i wanted so badly to protect him from anything bad. please come meet him, he is SUCH a good boy--i know you will want to take him home, love him and keep him safe.

Rescued! Thank you Terri and Rescued Pet Foundation. Please visit www.rescuedpet.petfinder.com for adoption information.

rescued!

very nice. the owner had "too many" so he dumped this cat and her tiny kittens at a high volume shelter where they have very little chance of making it out. perhaps if he had SPAYED and NEUTERED, this family would not be facing death.

mom cat is just adorable and SO very sweet. she rubs and purrs and looks at you with such sadness, as if she knows what her fate will be. the kittens are tiny, tiny. they really need to get out ASAP because tiny kittens are so vulnerable to disease at the shelter. the family must be adopted/rescued together or they will be euthanized together. the shelter does not have the space to keep the kittens until they can be adopted on their own.

please email yep6cats@aol.com if you can foster this family to save their lives or if you can donate towards the $275 shelter fees.

this family needs a foster home ASAP

this family came into the shelter as "personal property". i don't know what happened to their owner--arrested, hospitalized, etc. but by law the shelter must hold animals 30 days for owners who are in that kind of situation.

the family came in healthy and now, after 30 days at the shelter, several of the kittens are sick. they need out asap. two things are needed- a foster home and donations to pay the bail and vet fees. the shelter charges $55 per cat and kitten. it will cost $275 to pay the shelter fees for this little family. hopefully vet fees will not be too much. the shelter does not have space to keep the family until the kittens are 8 weeks. they MUST be adopted/rescued as a family or they will all be euthanized.

mom cat is so young herself and such a good mom. very friendly with people and so attentive to her little ones. the kittens are impossibly cute. please help save their lives.
