siberian husky Impound No. a701591 Male 12 years Available: Thu, Feb 17 Date Photo Taken: Sun, Feb 20 More Photos Available the scary shelter is no place for a loving senior dog! this boy is strikingly beautiful. the shelter has aged him as being 12 years but he shows no obvious signs of being old. he is very friendly and sits at the front of his kennel, waiting for somebody to give him some loving. for an older dog, he is really adjusting well to his surroundiings. this good natured boy gets along with the other dogs in his kennel. this is no place for a senior dog's life to end--with no one to care or mourn his loss. he should be in a home, adored and treasured in his golden years. he has SO much more life and love to give. rescued!	cocker spaniel mix Impound No. a700142 Kennel No. 40 Male 3 years Available: Thu, Feb 24 Date Photo Taken: Sun, Feb 20 he is on a long hold waiting for his owner, who will probably not show up then he will be desperate for a new loving home. this little guy is so cute and good natured. very happy, cheerful boy who gets along well with his kennel mates and comes right up to visit with anyone who stops by. he'll be a great little friend for somebody. rescued! thank you underdog rescue!
lab mix Impound No. a701691 Kennel No. 4 Male 5 months Available: Fri, Feb 18 Date Photo Taken: Sun, Feb 20 More Photos Available urgent-he has a medical card-this pup needs out now this pup is precious, absolutely adorable. he is a tail wagging little puppy love machine. so full of trust and hope. how very sad that he has little hope of making it into a home-he is being treated with antibiotics-not sure for what but it must be minor. dogs with medical conditions are not given much time. please email yep6cats@aol.com if you can foster this pup to save his life.	dsh tabby and white Impound No. a702364 Kennel No. cat room Female 3 years Available: Fri, Feb 18 Date Photo Taken: Sun, Feb 20 More Photos Available this is the dearest little cat with almost no hope of being adopted. her life is in danger, please help! i was there on the day that this sweet kitty was dumped at the shelter. she was just sitting at the back of her cage, trying to figure out what the heck happened. she is super sweet and has a gentleness about her that really moved me. when i reached in to pet her, she pushed her head towards me to meet me half way and made the softest, almost inaudible purr. her fur felt strangely soft-like rabbit fur. the shelter thinks she has an eye deformity-her lids are attached to the eyeball. not sure if this diagnosis is correct but she may need to see a vet to have it corrected. this loving cat has practically no chance of being adopted-people do not want to adopt a cat who will need immediate medical attention. shame on her owners who had her for three years and never took care of her eyes. PLEASE save this lovable big kitty! this big cuddly, adorable, mellow and loving maine coon is very close to losing his life. he caught upper respiratory "a kitty cold" at the shelter and is now sneezing. he was almost scheduled to be euthanized but i asked them to give me a few days to try to find an adopter or rescuer for him. he is now in isolation. SUCH a big, lovable boy who leans into it when you pet him and looks you in the eye with such sadness. this is a GREAT cat, i hope somebody can save his precious life. he shouldn't have to die for having a totally curable kitty cold! all he needs is time, TLC, some antibiotics and a chance to live. rescued! thank you rescue pet foundation!
dlh gray Impound No. a702374 Kennel No. cat room Female 10 months Available: Wed, Feb 23 Date Photo Taken: Sat, Feb 19 More Photos Available could she be any prettier? how gorgeous is this cat? she may look a bit overweight in the pic but it is all gorgeous fluffy fur. she is a bit sad and shy at the shelter but so very sweet when you open her cage to visit with her. this gorgeous, loving girl will be a wonderful companion. rescued!	tiny akita mix Impound No. a284869 Female 9 years Available: Sat, Nov 19 Date Photo Taken: Sat, Feb 19 this sweet dog has been at the shelter since october. she has big dog looks and little dog size, just 25 pounds! this dog is so little and cute, she looks like a miniature akita. she has been at the shelter since november!!!! almost FOUR MONTHS--she just has to get out alive! she is listed as 9 years old but seems younger. this girl REALLY got to me. have you ever seen a dog with a more sincere expression? she approached very daintily, with an inquiring look on her face but her very exuberant roommate would always get in the way. so she would just sit down and stare at me--wanting to come for some loving but afraid her roomie would jump on her. she is very lady like, gentle and calm. she stared at me as if begging me to save her and i felt horrible that i could not help her. i like her so much and think her good manners have hurt her chances of getting noticed. i guess it doesn't help being listed as nine years old either--everyone wants a puppy. she seem very healthy and active and i really think she is younger than nine years. somebody please save this girl who was overlooked at the "save a sweetheart" event. the shelter has promised to keep the left over sweethearts safe until saturday, tomorrow. after that, anything can happen to her rescued! please email yep6cats@aol.com for adoption information.

This beautiful, young, loving german shepherd mix is in isolation behind closed doors. Nobody knows he exists or that he is desperate for a home. This boy is literally on borrowed time, he was scheduled to be euthanized tonight but a rescuer asked for one more day. He came into the shelter a beautiful dog (as you can see from his before pic) and was put in a kennel with an aggressive dog. He came out on the losing end and had some lacerations on his head. The shelter shaved his head to treat the cuts and now he looks like a punk rocker with a mohawk. poor dog!! He is a total sweetheart and comes right up to the front to visit when people are in the room, which is not often in isolation. He's a very gentle soul, full of love and sweetness. Please don't let this dog die a lonely and unloved shelter death. He is really a good boy-please adopt him tomorrow and save his life! tomorrow, 2/12 is "save a sweetheart" day at the south la. shelter. there are reduced adoption fees and SO many wonderful animals who are desperate for a new loving home. please click here for more info	lab shep mix Impound No. a166595 Female 8 years Available: Sat, Jan 1 Date Photo Taken: Sun, Jan 16 this 8 year sweetie was dumped by her person for christmas poor cherry, she is the dearest dog. she was in a home for 8 years and she is making the best out of her new situation. she is very, very friendly. she is not hyper but has lots of energy for meeting and greeting every person who walks by. she stands on her hind legs trying to look each person in the eyes. perhaps the cherry is still looking for the person who betrayed her and left her to die. cherry is adorable. i wish my pic was better. she is petite, maybe 25 pounds, with dainty little paws. her legs have white socks with cute brown freckles. i really, really love this girl and know that she would be such a devoted companion. please don't let her down. no dog deserves to die alone and unloved but it is even more sad when it is a sweet older dog like cherry. she hardly acts like an 8 year old and seems so full of life. rescued! thank you underdog rescue! please visit www.underdogrescue.net for adoption information
pit bull/ lab mix Impound No. a695738 Kennel No. isolation!! Male 4 months Available: Sun, Jan 9 Date Photo Taken: Tue, Jan 11 this adorable little puppy has only until jan 12, 5 p.m. to be adopted or rescued. beyond urgent this is the cutest, most tail wagging, people loving, happy little pup. he is in isolation because of a puncture wound on his foot which is healing nicely. the vet tech says he will probably just need to be on antibiotics to heal. dogs in isolation are not given much time. this puppy's time is up. he was scheduled to be euthanized today but i asked for one more day in hopes that somebody will adopt him or rescue him. he is super sweet and only 4 months, please don't let him die! rescued! thank you underdog rescue! for adoption information please visit www.underdogrescue.net	retriever/shepherd mix Impound No. a694028 Male 9 months Available: Wed, Dec 21 Date Photo Taken: Sat, Jan 8 More Photos Available rescued! thank you ha and elonne!! he is super sweet and wags his tail for everyone. when he first arrived he was very scared so they stamped "caution" on his kennel card but it no longer applies. caution he might hit you with his wagging tail? now that he has adjusted to his new scary environment, he is a gentle angel dog! he is the sweetest pup-loves people and gets so excited for any bit of attention. he is super cute and weighs about 30 pounds. he gets along with his kennel mates. he may be a bit depressed from being at the shelter too long so please ask to visit with him outside of his kennel. update jan 11. sadly, i visited with this dog outside of his kennel and he is very, very scared. he did become comfortable in his cage and was very sweet when i visited him through the cage but ouside of the kennel he is petrified. i don't know that anyone ever pet the poor dog. i gave him treats and he let me pet him but he looked as if he kept expecting me to do something awful. i do think this dog would be very sweet with time and tlc, but he is not a dog for someone who is not prepared to be patient. please email yep6cats@aol.comif you would like to foster this dog to save his life.
