A little ironic to name your dog Lucky and then abandon her at the shelter. THIS IS THE SWEETEST DOG IN THE SHELTER! Really, you could not find a nicer dog anywhere. Lucky comes right up to the front of the cage to greet everyone who passes by. She wags her tail in hopes that maybe the next person will see how very special she is and take her home. Another picture of the beautiful white mom cat with one of her kittens. They must all be adopted together or they will lose their lives together. The shelter does not have room to keep a whole family for 8 weeks. The kittens can not survive without the mother so they MUST be adopted as a family.

Roxie is yet another one of my favorites. I guess there are a lot of exceptional dogs at the shelter so it is hard to have just one favorite. Roxie is so sweet, gentle, well behaved and mellow. She is so good with the little puppies in her kennel. They jump all over her, chew on her, yap at her and she acts very calm and motherly towards them. She is beautiful too, much prettier than her picture. Already spayed so she can go home with you today. Really, you could not ask for a nicer dog.

UPDATE 3/18: From the pup's new owner, "I saw your article on RacingWest on the Chow Pup and decided to call the pound today. The website for the pound says he is not available until tomorrow, however when I called, they told me he was going to be put to sleep today, so even though they were closed today, I talked them in to letting me adopt him today, which I did. He has an appointment with the Vet at 5:00 to get treated for his upper resporitory infection. Now the only problem is, he needs a name. Anyone with any ideas, I would love to hear them."
