this dog is sweet beyond words. a shelter worker pointed him out to me on the day he was scheduled to die for having kennel cough. he was so sweet, so innocent and full of love, i decided to see if i could get him a few more days and somehow save him. as good fortune would have it, he only needed a few days. the nicest couple came into the shelter today, fell in love with this pup and took him home. this is a very lucky dog. most of the dogs in isolation are not this lucky. please remember to ask to see the dogs locked away in isolation. they have no chance to be adopted unless you ask to see them. often they have something very minor such as kennel cough or an ear infection. also, please visit www.sheltercare.com for information about two months free health insurance for any pet adopted from the shelter. adopted!!!!!! |
Roxy's owners got divorced and dumped her at the shelter! They later came back and redeemed her. Roxy was dumped at this high volume shelter because her owners got divorced. How sad that people think that little of the precious life that they were entrusted to care for. Roxy is so gentle, loving and good natured--and this is her reward? Roxy is very sad at the shelter, and rightfully so. the shelter is a scary place and big dogs like her have a hard time making it out. As you can see from her picture, she is beautiful with such expressive eyes. You can tell she misses her people, the poor girl whimpers when people walk by and tries desperately to get their attention. Roxy will be so grateful to whomever saves her life! She is a really good girl and deserves so much better. Please right the wrong that has been done to her. You won't regret it, she will reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love. Redeemed by owner. i hope they treat her right and never dump he again.
Poor Bobba was adopted from here and dumped back because his owners didn't check with their "landlord" before bringing a dog home! Please save his life This poor boy has been here before. How traumatic for a dog to be dumped at a shelter, adopted and then dumped again. Yet he is still very very friendly, affectionate and loving! He is a super sweet boy who deserves a forever home! He is already neutered, so he can go home the day he is adopted. Please save his LIFE. adopted, but not a happy ending. unfortunately the family that took bobba will banish him to the backyard to be a guard dog. i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at the shelter again. poor bobba. |
This guy has beautiful blue eyes! He also has adorable huge ears that point straight up. He is still a puppy at just 9 months old and is full of love! He is friendly and very unique looking. He is a very special boy! Please save his life and give him a loving home! adopted!
Ashton's owners moved. So what did they do for their companion of many years? Dump him at a high-kill city pound. Charming. Ashton has not been well cared-for. According to his kennel card, he has some dental tartar and possibly periodontal problems. Neither is life threatening. If adopted, Ashton will be eligible for two free months of ShelterCare pet insurance, compliments of Petfinder. After a $50 deductible is met, ShelterCare will pay up to $500 per covered incident. Please take Ashton home and get his teeth cleaned. You'll both feel so much better. Adopted. |
Very labby girl. Totally sweet and adorable. She should have no trouble getting adopted. adopted!
This dog has a Possible Owner. Whoever this owner is, has not taken very good care of this little puppy. She's only a baby and she appears to have never been groomed. Nevertheless, she will sit and wait for her owner to redeem her. If no one comes for her, she will be available for adoption. She's a cutie. Let's hope she goes to a better home. UPDATE 2/10: Her kennel card has a notation -- "possible redemption 2/6/04." Yet, she is still in the Puppy Room. ADOPTED. |
Thank you To Cockers and Kitties and Robert Valenta for Saving her. She is being bailed out today.
SHE HAS BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR HER PERSON TO REDEEM HER. This girl seems much younger than 5 years. She acts like a youngster. She is very friendly and has been waiting patiently at the shelter for her owner for OVER 1 MONTH! She may already be spayed, since she is microchipped and has a previous impound number (presumably adopted from a city pound). This girl is a real sweetheart! She has been such a good girl, even lending support to her kennel mate, Dutchess, who is terrified at the shelter. This sweetie has taken Dutchess under her paw.UPDATE 2/6: Poor baby has had the worst luck. First she is stuck in the pound; then her owner does not find her; she gets sick and winds up in Isolation; now she is back in the general kennels and she is attacked by another dog.
PLEASE GET THIS GIRL OUT OF HERE.
UPDATE 2/10: This sad girl whimpers to be taken home. It's so pathetic. She desperately wants out. Her review date has been pushed back to 2/21. There has to be a happy ending for this beautiful dog! She is incredible! AVAILABLE NOW! OK, after all this time she has been at the shelter, she is finally available. she is such a sweetheart, so full of life and enthusiasm. she adores people and even after all this time at the shelter still greets ever new person as if they are the one she has been waiting for. she looks at each person with such hope, expecting that they will love her back. she will be the best, most loving and loyal companion you could ever want. PLEASE somebody come to save this dog TODAY!
How sad if she was stuck at the shelter all this time and then all she gets is euthanized. This is the kind of dog who will wag her tail on the way back to the medical room and will lick the face of the person who is putting her down. please don't let that happen.

URGENT! THIS BOY IS INCREDIBLY SWEET! PLEASE SAVE HIS LIFE! This sweetie pie guy gets the most loving look in his eyes when he looks up at you. He looks to be a pure Shepherd to me. I had a hard time getting a good picture of him because he was so happy to see me! He is such a special boy, who deserves to have a family who will love him as much as he will love them. This boy is in big trouble and needs to get out of the shelter now! It would be tragic if his precious life were to end now. He has SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE! Adopted! |
THIS GUY IS THE FRIENDLIEST BOY AT THE SHELTER! I HAVE BEEN AT THE SHELTER FOR NEARLY 4 MONTHS . IT IS ALMOST TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE--I AM SUCH A SWEET BOY! This guy is all love! Poor thing has been at the shelter since August 16! He has kept high spirits even though he has been in this depressing place. He is a big boy, and when you walk up to his kennel he presses his body against the bars waiting for you to pet him. He then proceeds to roll over for a tummy rub. He is very gentle too! This boy deserves better than he has had the past two months! HE WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON and I hope someone finds it in their heart to take this boy home! He reminds me of another dog whose owner was arrested. The poor dog sat at the shelter for a month, and was euthanized the day after he became available. It BREAKS MY HEART, and I don't want to see this lovebug meet the same ending. It would be TRAGIC! His owner was arrested, so was being held as personal property. He shouldn't have to die because his owner got into trouble with the law. This is such a special boy! See for yourself, come and meet him....you won't be disappointed! He will probably only have a day or two to be adopted when he becomes available, it would be nice if he had a place lined up to go to assure he lives. I hope someone can find it in their heart to rescue or adopt him!" Adopted!
